We built this because we kept turning round too
Our daughter was four months old and the drive to my parents' was ninety minutes of motorway. I spent most of it twisting round at every services turn-off, and my wife spent most of it telling me to watch the road.
We tried three cameras off the shelf. One fell off. One had a picture so dark it was useless after five o'clock. One needed wiring into the cigarette lighter and trailed a cable across the back seat.

The headrest clip fits any standard two-post headrest, which covers almost every car on the road. If yours is an unusual shape, send us a photo before ordering and we'll tell you honestly whether it'll work.
Is it safe to have in the car?
It mounts to the headrest, not the windscreen, so it's nowhere near your eyeline. The screen is designed to be glanced at like a mirror — not watched.
How does it charge?
USB-C. A full charge covers roughly a week of normal school runs, and it'll charge from the car on longer trips.
Can I see it at night?
Yes. Infrared night vision shows an actual face rather than a grey shape, which is the difference between knowing they're asleep and guessing.
Can I move it between cars?
It unclips in a couple of seconds. Plenty of parents keep one in each car instead, which is why the two-pack exists.
